I Took Home 2nd Place at Black Girl Ventures’ Pull Up & Pitch Philly! 🏆✨

The entrepreneurial journey is full of highs, challenges, and incredible opportunities, and I’m beyond excited to share one of my biggest wins yet—I won 2nd place at the Black Girl Ventures Pull Up & Pitch competition in Philadelphia! 🎉

What is Pull Up & Pitch?

Hosted by Black Girl Ventures (BGV), Pull Up & Pitch is an exciting, high-energy pitch competition designed to give Black and Brown entrepreneurs a chance to showcase their businesses, gain funding, and connect with a powerful network of founders and investors. The twist? You don’t need a formal pitch deck or months of preparation—you just pull up and pitch!

I knew this was a huge opportunity for AQUA Waterproof Headwear, so I pulled up, pitched my heart out, and walked away with 2nd place!

Why This Win is So Important

Winning 2nd place wasn’t just about the prize—it was about validation, visibility, and growth. Competing among incredibly talented Black entrepreneurs reminded me why I started this journey: to create an innovative, stylish, and 100% waterproof headwear solution that helps women preserve their hair and protect their confidence.

During my pitch, I shared how AQUA Waterproof Headwear is making a difference—helping women keep their hair dry in rain, the pool, and the shower, while also providing UV protection and comfort for those undergoing chemotherapy, living with alopecia, or wearing head coverings for religious reasons.

What’s Next?

This win is fueling my momentum as I continue to scale AQUA into more retail locations, grow our community, and make an even bigger impact. With every pitch, sale, and new customer, I’m reminded that AQUA is more than just a product—it’s a movement.
